Photography Tour at Ghost Ranch, Abiquiu, NM - September 29th - October 1st.

Course: The three day course will encompass multiple facets of photography including morning, evening, and night photography. Participants should have a basic knowledge of adjusting their camera’s settings, and should also have horseback riding experience or be comfortable being on a horse.  Price includes all lodging and meals, but airfare and transportation to Ghost Ranch are at additional cost/responsibility of the participant.

Requirements: Camera (DSLR), Tripod, Camelbak or similar water reservoir, appropriate clothing and hiking shoes for desert climates. Instructors will be holding a pre-trip call with participants to answer any questions.


Day 1: Afternoon arrival, check-in, and introductions. Participants will be given an overview of Ghost Ranch’s layout, followed by unguided photography around the ranch’s common grounds. Following dinner, night photography course will be conducted at a set location(s) approved by Ghost Ranch.


Day 2: Following breakfast, the participants will be introduced to the wranglers and required to attend the horse riding instructions course and sign the waivers. Guided by the wranglers we will set out to predetermined locations to begin the photography course while the wranglers provide the history of the ranch. Depending on the photography locations, lunch may be provided in the field or back at the ranch.

The afternoon and evening will be filled with photographing predetermined locations at the ranch where participants continue to practice their night photography skills.


Day 3: Breakfast, followed by horseback riding to predetermined locations on the ranch. The field course will conclude by lunch time, followed by debrief and departure from the ranch.
